About The Role:
The Senior Project Manager, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) is responsible for leading and managing the planning and delivery of WHS projects and initiatives to ensure health, safety and wellness outcomes consistent with the Department's overarching Work Health and Safety Management System. The role manages project stakeholder engagement, planning, preparation and execution of any business change and communication strategies associated with the delivery of such projects. The role will work in partnership and collaboration with diverse teams, including the broader WHS team to implement WHS project plans.
About You:
The Senior Project Manager, WHS will possess a strong understanding of WHS legislation, familiarity with strategic and operational WHS planning and the ability to develop and implement WHS management systems and software solutions. We are looking for candidates with exceptional interpersonal skills for engagement and collaboration and demonstrated experience in psychological health and safety in the workplace. WHS related certifications (e.g., Lead Auditor, ICAM, ISO 45001 and 45003 training) are a strong advantage but not essential.
These positions operate in the context of Leading Others. This means that you will motivate and enable others to deliver high quality work. You will balance time between doing the work and coaching, guiding and developing others. This requires a significant shift in thinking from 'doing' to supporting others to 'do good work'; and consideration of present and future needs when allocating time to the team and projects you lead. You will articulate how work is to be done, providing clear direction and feedback.
