Title: Senior Manager, Group and Head Office Statutory Reporting
Type;Hybrid
Time Type: Full time

Worker Type: Employee

Location: Sydney Australia

Job Description:

Are you an experienced financial reporting leader ready to shape the Group’s statutory reporting strategy and ensure the integrity of its disclosures? We are seeking a Senior Manager, Group and Head Office Statutory Reporting, to play a key leadership role in delivering the Group Annual Report and associated board-level reporting and analytics, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role also oversees the financial control function for Group Head Office operations.

This is a high-impact role with broad visibility across the organisation, involving regular interaction with senior management and key stakeholders at all levels. You will lead a team of technical experts, and collaborate with senior stakeholders across Group Finance and the business to deliver high-quality, compliant and insight-driven financial reporting, as well as influence key decisions through timely financial analysis and expert accounting advice.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead Group statutory reporting: Shape and deliver the Group’s statutory reporting agenda, with end-to-end responsibility for the preparation of the Group Annual Report and associated board-level disclosures and analytics. Ensure all reporting outputs are technically robust, aligned with evolving accounting standards, and meet regulatory and governance requirements. Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, ensuring audit readiness and timely resolution of reporting matters.

  • Deliver financial insight: Drive the analysis and interpretation of statutory results, ensuring key insights are clearly communicated to senior stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and external engagement.

  • Drive technical excellence: Provide guidance on complex accounting and disclosure matters. Monitor changes in financial reporting standards and lead their interpretation and implementation across Group reporting processes.

  • Oversee Group Head Office (HO) financial control: Lead the financial control function for the Group Head Office entities, including internal reporting, foreign currency management, and remuneration reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

  • Champion process improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance the quality, efficiency, and governance of statutory reporting and HO financial control processes, systems, and controls.

  • Influence and collaborate across the business: Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Group Financial Control, Tax, Investor Relations, Treasury, Legal, and divisional teams. Influence decision-making and ensure alignment of statutory reporting with broader business priorities.

  • Develop and lead a high-performing team: Lead and develop a technically strong team while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional excellence in financial reporting.

This is more than a reporting role—it is a senior leadership opportunity to influence how the Group communicates its financial performance while meeting its statutory obligations. If you’re ready to apply your technical expertise and strategic insight in a high-impact role with broad stakeholder engagement, we’d love to hear from you.

What You Bring

  • CA/CPA (or equivalent) qualification, with deep technical expertise in financial accounting and reporting, including a strong understanding of Australian equivalents to IFRS and emerging disclosure requirements.

  • Extensive experience in financial reporting, ideally within general insurance or a complex corporate environment,  with demonstrated ownership of high-profile deliverables such as annual reports and board-level reporting.

  • Proven ability to interpret and apply accounting standards in a commercial context, and to provide clear, actionable advice to senior stakeholders on complex financial reporting matters.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, exercise sound judgment, and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across a broad range of functions and external auditors.

  • Demonstrated leadership capability, including experience managing high-performing teams, setting strategic direction, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
