Position Overview:
The Senior HMDA Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in HMDA data management and compliance, providing advanced support in analysis, testing, and regulatory reporting. This position contributes to process development, leads compliance reviews, and acts as a mentor and resource to junior team members.
Job Responsibilities:

Conduct root cause analysis and administer the corrective action lifecycle to remediate emerging risks and systemic issues impacting HMDA compliance.

Participate in Compliance change management processes, including reviewing and providing feedback on Jira ticket submissions related to HMDA-impacting system or policy changes.

Lead the execution of HMDA compliance testing programs and interpret Fair Lending regulatory impacts.

Oversee the review and resolution of complex HMDA edits and action coding discrepancies.

Monitor the integrity of HMDA data throughout the loan lifecycle; ensure accurate LAR assembly and submission.

Collaborate cross-functionally with production, operations, and senior management to resolve systemic data quality issues.

Prepare and present comprehensive reporting and trend analysis to Compliance leadership.

Maintain and continuously improve HMDA-related Standard Monitoring Procedures and internal controls.

Train and support junior compliance staff on HMDA processes and best practices.

Engage in high-level regulatory research and ensure proactive compliance with updates or examination findings.

Represent the Compliance function in audit and regulatory examination meetings related to HMDA, including leading discussions, preparing written narratives, and drafting rebuttals in response to examiner inquiries or findings.

Drive enhancements in automation, reporting, and data governance practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
-
High School Diploma, or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field, preferred.

4+ years of experience in mortgage compliance, with at least 2 years focused on HMDA.

Thorough understanding of the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.

Excellent analytical and investigative skills, with experience in regulatory testing and audit preparation.

Skilled at interpreting complex regulations and translating them into practical procedures.

Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.

Proficient in HMDA software tools, regulatory databases, and Microsoft Office Suite.
