About the Role 

The Core Infrastructure Team is the backbone of Eightfold, responsible for the architecture, maintenance, and enhancement of critical elements of our technology stack. This includes infrastructure supporting our Search, Databases, Machine Learning, Data Warehouse, Developer Platform, and Application Infrastructure in AWS and Azure. This role is part of a team responsible for critical cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure, ensuring global reliability, scalability, security, and cost-optimization.

Join a high-impact mission control team responsible for supporting and optimizing Eightfold's most critical infrastructure, including high-revenue growth projects.

What You Will Do

• Architect and manage secure, scalable cloud environments on AWS and Azure.
• Ensure environments meet strict standards for availability, reliability, scalability, observability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Design, improve, and support highly distributed and large-scale systems used by millions of users, processing terabytes of data.
• Automate infrastructure deployment, configuration, and disaster recovery using Shell Scripting, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Implement cloud-native solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, and other containerization technologies.
• Apply best practices for cloud security, including identity management, access control, and encryption.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and secure infrastructure solutions.
• Support global customers, including governments and large enterprises, suring compliance with security standards.

What You Bring

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to support highly restricted production environments.
• A proactive mindset, strong ownership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work on time. 
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) with hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in managing cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure.
• Expertise in cloud security principles, including VPC, CloudFront, Route Tables, certificates, security groups, IAM, NLB, and ALB, etc.
• Experience with automation tools, including GitHub, Shell Scripting, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Demonstrable skills in Coding and Scripting
• Proven experience providing 24/7 on-call support for critical production infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in high-security, government, or compliance-driven environments (e.g., DoD, FedRAMP).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
• Experience in cloud cost control and optimization.

Pay Transparency

Please note this role is categorized as hybrid in Santa Clara, CA The base salary ranges below are provided for pay transparency. Base pay is only one piece of our total compensation package as this role is eligible for bonus and equity awards. Compensation varies depending on a number of factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and zones. that are determined by location. Zone A is SF Bay Area, CA .

Zone A Base annual salary range: $154,000 to $181,000 + discretionary bonus up to `15% + preIPO equity (stock options).
