POSITION OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Real Estate Attorney to join the 174 Power Global Legal Team to provide support and expertise for the development of utility scale solar energy and battery storage projects. The successful candidate will have at least five years of experience as a real estate attorney in the renewable energy industry and be able to work independently and in a team to diligence, acquire, lease, finance and sell renewable energy projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of real estate documents, including options, leases, purchase agreements, easements, shared facilities agreements and crossing agreements.
- Negotiate real estate legal provisions in acquisition, financing and sale transactions
- Provide legal due diligence, including reviewing title reports, mineral ownership reports and surveys and identifying, mitigating and/or curing real estate risks.
- Effectively communicate, support and collaborate with project team members and external parties in all stages of project development.
- Be involved in and manage outside counsel in connection with the preparation of Power Purchase Agreements, Engineering, Procurement and Construction Agreements, Financing Agreements, Membership Interest Purchase Agreements and other documents related to project development.
Skills And Experience
- J.D. from accredited law school
- 5+ years’ experience in handling complex real estate matters, ideally in the renewable energy field
- Familiarity with land use considerations for renewable energy projects, including securing surface use agreements with mineral rights holders and navigating minerals coverage for title insurance
- Strong drafting, negotiating and problem-solving skills
- Strong references
- Strong work ethic and ability to self-start in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with little supervision and to seek help when needed
$220,000 - $255,000 Salary
