Title: Senior Community Relations Specialist - Employee Engagement/Events

Location: Eden Prairie United States

Job Description:

Are you passionate about creating meaningful employee experiences and driving social impact? C.H. Robinson is looking for a Senior Community Relations Consultant to lead our employee engagement, and volunteerism strategy with a focus on building community partnerships, coordinating large-scale events, and activating our global workforce around charitable giving. This role is ideal for a strategic and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is energized by engaging others to give back. You'll work cross-functionally with leadership, employees, nonprofit partners, and internal teams to develop and execute programs that align with our values and strengthen the communities we serve.

In this role, you will engage with peers on-site 2 days a week, igniting creativity and driving impactful results. With the flexibility for remote work 3 days a week, this role strikes the perfect balance between teamwork and autonomy.

Responsibilities:

Employee Engagement Strategy & Program Leadership

  • Gain alignment from senior leaders to develop and implement cross-functional employee engagement and volunteerism strategies on a global scale.
  • Oversee a portfolio of employee engagement programs that support the company's broader Community Relations strategy.
  • Continuously assess and evolve the event and program calendar, proposing new ideas to improve engagement and impact.

Volunteer Program & Committee Management

  • Recruit, lead, and support a global network of employee volunteer committees, providing resources and guidance to ensure program success.
  • Manage relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, including executive sponsors who champion volunteer events and campaigns.
  • Oversee employee community engagement awards, celebrating and recognizing outstanding contributions across the company.

Event Planning & Execution

  • Plan, manage, and evaluate charitable giving and volunteer events at our headquarters, in collaboration with employee volunteer committees.
  • Support regional and global offices in executing large-scale volunteer events, ensuring consistency and alignment with global strategy.
  • Manage event budgets, timelines, logistics, and post-event performance metrics.

Partnerships & Communications

  • Build and sustain relationships with nonprofit partners, identifying collaboration opportunities that align with business priorities.
  • Partner with internal communications and marketing teams to develop and execute communications plans that increase awareness and participation in community events.
  • Collaborate with the social media and PR teams on external promotion opportunities.

Program Monitoring & Reporting

  • Lead the tracking and execution of volunteer and gift match programs, providing insights and new ideas to expand participation.
  • Develop and report on KPIs and success metrics, pulling regular reports to evaluate progress and impact.
  • Act as the main point of contact for program-related questions, issues, or escalations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with large-scale event planning, employee engagement and/or volunteer recruitment
  • Ability to work evening and weekends up to 15% of time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with YourCause/Blackbaud
  • Comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced, rapidly changing, results-oriented work environment
  • Outstanding ability to manage relationships and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Excellent consultative skills and ability to communicate and influence effectively across varied stakeholder audiences
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to the appropriate audience
  • Possesses strong strategic orientation, ability to think critically, and evaluate broad impacts of work
  • Proven ability to work with minimal guidance, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and take initiative even under unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances
  • Values a diverse and inclusive work environment

Compensation Range

$76,100.00 - $118,700.00
