POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Application Analyst is responsible for advanced analysis, design, testing, implementation, and ongoing support of Business Systems and related applications across the organization, with a primary focus on Meditech Patient Access solutions. This role provides leadership on projects, supports other analysts, and collaborates with internal teams, physician practices, facilities, and external agencies to ensure systems are reliable and meet organizational needs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical communication skills and proven expertise in Meditech workflows and functionality.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Serve as application owner for Patient Access solutions, with a strong understanding of patient account flow within non-clinical applications, including Billing/Accounts Receivable.
- Design, implement, and maintain Business Systems and related applications.
- Lead market-level software projects as the subject matter expert for both the application and operational processes.
- Act as liaison between markets and vendors for application support, customizations, and change management.
- Partner with Operations and end-users to optimize workflows, system usage, and processes to leverage best practices and application capabilities.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure application functionality and business requirements are documented and met.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, hospital personnel, HSC staff, and external business contacts.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of healthcare IT experience or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Meditech Patient Access applications is required.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Knowledge:
- Deep expertise in Meditech Patient Access modules and comparable EMR systems.
- Experience managing outsourced patient access technologies, including vendor partnerships (e.g., R1), is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Business Mathematical Skills: Ability to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphs.
- Advanced Computer Skills: Proficient in email, complex spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.
- Communication: Strong oral and written skills; ability to train others and present to management.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze varied and complex issues using knowledge and best practices.
- Judgment & Planning: Works independently with broad guidance; manages multiple tasks of moderate complexity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Remote-based position.
- On-site work may involve typical office or hospital environments, with potential exposure to hazards requiring safety precautions.
- Travel: 25-50% (overnight by land and/or air).
- Normal business hours: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday (remote workers must be available during these hours unless otherwise approved).
