Job Summary

Summary:

Establishes and manages effective ongoing communication with assigned physician practice(s) to identify and address business needs; provides guidance and timely responses to customer service questions and requests; conducts regular meetings with practice staff. Communicates with practice(s) within the framework of the Revenue Cycle. Provides analysis and context for monthly performance data. This includes projections and comparison to budget figures.

Essential Functions: Oversee the entire billing process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, invoicing, and accounts receivable management.

  • Provides the practices and Management with the status and analysis of standard operational, financial, billing and budget statistics on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor billing performance metrics, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement in revenue cycle processes.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, payer requirements, and billing practices, such as HIPAA and Medicare regulations.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies and payers to resolve billing issues, negotiate contracts, and address reimbursement discrepancies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging, implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances, and oversee the resolution of billing disputes.
  • Analyze revenue trends, identify root causes for revenue fluctuations, and develop action plans to optimize revenue generation.

Education

Bachelor's Degree Finance required or Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required

Licenses and Credentials

Experience

Healthcare billing or revenue cycle management experience 5-7 years required and Management experience 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of billing processes, coding principles (ICD-10, CPT), reimbursement methodologies, and healthcare payer policies.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills to effectively lead and motivate a billing team.
  • Proficiency in analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and implementing strategies for revenue enhancement and process improvement.
  • Thorough understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and their application in billing practices.
  • Ability to identify billing issues, propose solutions, and implement changes to improve revenue cycle efficiency.
