Our Resource Manager must understand the Workday deployment methodology and take an organized approach to strategically filling project roles with an eye on practice development and resource optimization. This individual will quickly learn our resource’s capabilities, understand project-specific technical, functional, and industry-related aspects, and effectively staff resources in collaboration with the management team. This role will serve as a strategic partner to practice leaders, ensuring shared accountability for staffing decisions, capacity planning, and resource optimization.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage the assignment of Consulting and Delivery resources to active and upcoming projects based on resource availability, skills, bill rate and project timelines.
- Provide resource inputs for project estimates based on role requirements and availability.
- Proactively drive increased utilization numbers for the Professional Services team through effective resource management with an eye on the future.
- Identify and recommend strategies to improve project margins through effective and efficient resource allocation.
- Manage resourcing forecast review for Professional Services based on input from weekly meetings. Ensure Services team adheres to resource forecasting processes and procedures including timely and accurate forecast updates.
- Monitor day to day project activities and resourcing, identifying potential instances of underutilization and actively work with the Services Leaders to address and solve those issues.
- Identify risk areas i.e. supply/demand, over/understaffed, shortage of a specific skill etc. and review these with internal stakeholders and VP as needed. Update, suggest, and manage staffing and rebalancing as needed.
- Partner with the Sales team to assemble the “win team” for orals and bid processes.
- Optimize internal and external subcontract programs including forecasts, secure subcontractors to meet customer requirements, onboard subcontractors, and place idle resources on partner projects.
- Reporting - Assist and manage reports related to the Professional Services business. This may include managing, auditing, and analyzing data to compile project statistics, reports and dashboards.
- Identify opportunities for business process improvements and make recommendations as appropriate, including driving decision making as needed.
- Relationship management with Workday and other partners: Create relationships, set up regular calls to understand resource availability and open staffing needs for inbound and outbound opportunities.
About You (Required Skills)
- 5+ years resource management or project management experience in Professional Services and/or similar environment.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build partnerships and provide recommendations across all levels of the organization.
- Relationship management and contract experience (drafting and executing legal documents) a plus.
- Ability to analyze data, reports and dashboards and a willingness to dive into systems and formulate new and better ideas on how to better support stakeholders.
- Accomplished in process improvement, project administration, and operations.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with conflicting priorities. This is a high-volume role where individuals must be reliable, accurate, and provide rapid turnaround.
- Strong systems administration knowledge. Experience with PSA systems, Workday, SalesForce.com and Excel a plus.
- Workday certifications, Workday consulting experience and/or Workday Engagement Management experience is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines with confidence and ease.
