About the Position

The Research Portfolio Specialist I is responsible in providing institutional-level research administration services including creating and maintaining relationships with researchers and program teams on behalf of the Department of Programs (DoP).

This is a hybrid-remote corporate position.

Compensation: $28.00/HOUR

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience(1+ years of relevant experience may be substituted for education requirement)
  • Minimum of one (1) year grants, contracts, or clinical trials administrationpreferred
  • Ability to work independently and proactively is
  • Strong written and oral communication skills witha high levelof customer service
  • Advanced grammar skills and technical editing ability
  • Computer skills including intermediate level experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office Software
  • Experience with industry-sponsored awardspreferred
  • Research or healthcare background and knowledge ofDoD process and procedural knowledgepreferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Initiate equipment,materialsand service procurement requests to include travel; process participant stipends and renumeration;secure proffers, bids, and vendor information whennecessary
  • Follow-up on outstanding procurement requests communicating with the researchteams
  • Review all budget expenditures and charge requests to ensure compliance with approved budget,researcher and or program teamapproval,Uniform Guidance compliance, and verify that purchase does not require prior approvalfromsponsor
  • Monitor proposal status and advise researcherand program team on requirements and submissiondeadlines
  • Provide support of study startup activities and close out activities for grants and PI-driven contracts
  • Leverage pre-award surge capabilities to support administrative components of proposal submissions (checklists, templates, boilerplates)
  • Schedule andassistwithfacilitatingregular meetings with researchers and program teams to discussprojectprogress, challenges, and questions on upcoming phases (no less than quarterly)
  • Track reporting deadlines and provide research teams with templates for technical report submissions;finalizeand submit reports tosponsor
  • Ensure accuracy of monthly budget reports and distribute toresearcher and program teamsfor activeprojects
  • Support administrative components of proposal submissions, such as completing forms and formatting documentsin accordance withsponsorrequirements
  • Assistin providing regular updates to portfolio revenuegoals
  • Ensure applicable award documentation (including approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.) as well as any communications with the sponsor or any other Federal or regulatory office (including prior approvals, change in scope, etc.) are received and appropriated stored andmaintained
  • Conduct general funding searches for researchers and programteams
