 Our Regulatory Reporting team

We’re searching for an ambitious, innovative and caring Regulatory Reporting Manager to help inspire and develop our Regulatory Reporting team. The team is responsible for understanding our prudential regulatory reporting requirements, working on projects and submissions relating to these and collaborating with teams across Monzo

Reporting into the Regulatory Reporting Policy Team Senior Manager, the role is primarily responsible for ensuring our horizon scanning and interpretation activities (e.g, PRA Rulebook, UK CRR) are correctly reflected in our capital, liquidity and financial returns, and monitoring our adherence to the applicable rules on an ongoing basis. This includes identifying and defining any changes required to data and production quickly and safely.

Combining the learnings of some of the fastest growing tech companies in the world with your own unique approach, you will manage a high-energy, dynamic workstream to foster open, collaborative, and inclusive working, embrace change, and inspire continuous learning. You will help enable Monzo to scale into a world-class, diverse and passionate group of people capable of effecting change across the globe.

You’ll play a key role by...

  • Proactively identifying and interpreting the rules, regulations and guidance applicable to the Regulatory Reporting team at Monzo, and ensuring ongoing compliance in the production of returns
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining the processes and controls required to maintain Monzo’s interpretations, especially including the associated documentation
  • Ensure that the processes and controls in place to produce returns are compliant with the applicable regulations, to facilitate accurate, complete and timely reporting
  • Working closely with our engineers and data scientists to ensure we source the correct data efficiency, accuracy and timelines consistently across production
  • Working with a range of internal stakeholders, including Treasury, Risk, Data and project teams, to navigate and agree on what can be complex or ambiguous regulations in order to achieve the safest outcome for Monzo
  • Facilitate robust, appropriate governance over the identification and interpretation of the applicable regulations and the implementation of the rule in production
  • Review all capital, liquidity and financial regulatory returns and any other returns the Regulatory Reporting team produces to ensure compliance with the regulations
  • Instilling a culture of continuous improvement throughout and engaging effectively with relevant stakeholders to implement changes that lead to improvement
  • Play a key role in the automation of Monzo’s regulatory reporting, specifically implementation, user acceptance testing (UAT) and maintenance
  • Ensuring that changes to processes that support regulatory reporting are implemented quickly and safely
  • Developing, implementing and maintaining the governance and control framework required for regulatory reporting and expected by our Regulators
  • Working with the rest of Monzo to help them understand regulatory implications of new products and services
  • Contribute towards our ambitious expansion plans including supporting the rest of Monzo and ensuring that the Regulatory Reporting team is always an enabler

We’d love to hear from you if…

  • You have experience understanding and operationalising a wide range of regulatory requirements and the associated reporting
  • You have experience in the large-scale implementation and testing (UAT) of automated reporting solutions
  • You are able to identify areas for improvement, propose dynamic solutions and implement these changes quickly and safely
  • You have excellent planning, organisation and time-management skills and are able to manage people on this basis
  • You can demonstrate a proven track record of excellent team leadership and coaching skills with the ability to provide empathy and guidance
  • You're excited to leverage technology to automate reporting and capital management with a track record of continuous process improvement
  • You have a great eye for detail and are numerically astute
  • Are self-motivated, ‘hands-on’ and take satisfaction in supporting colleagues, projects or tasks however big or small
  • Monzo excites you!

Not ticking every box? That’s totally okay! Studies show that women and people of colour might hesitate to apply unless they meet every single requirement. At Monzo, we’re dedicated to creating a diverse and welcoming team. If you’re passionate about this role and keen to learn and grow with us, we encourage you to apply— even if you don’t have everything that's listed just yet. Drop us your application, we’d love to hear from you!
