This is a remote position with frequent in-market travel (35%–50%) across the Northeast. Candidates must reside in NY, NJ, PA, MA, CT, RI, VT, NH, or ME.
The Role
The Regional Director of Operations oversees up to six campgrounds in the Northeast, ensuring operational excellence, revenue growth, and adherence to company standards. Reporting to the Director of Operations or CEO, you’ll lead and inspire a team of General Managers—providing consistent coaching, actionable feedback, and tailored development plans. You’ll focus on succession planning, building a strong leadership pipeline to sustain growth. Alongside operational oversight, you’ll contribute to acquisitions, market expansion, and brand-building activities at industry events.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Talent Development
- Mentor and coach General Managers through structured feedback, skill development, and performance management.
- Identify and prepare high-potential team members for advancement, ensuring strong succession plans.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and pride in service excellence.
Operational Excellence
- Conduct regular site visits to assess performance and maintain brand standards.
- Step in during staffing gaps, providing on-site leadership until stabilized.
- Oversee compliance with all operational permits, licenses, and safety standards.
Performance & Revenue Growth
- Analyze revenue and operational reports; implement data-driven improvements.
- Partner with marketing to execute promotions, optimize pricing, and increase occupancy.
- Ensure booking platforms and websites are accurate, current, and visually compelling.
Strategic Expansion
- Collaborate with Acquisitions and Asset Management to evaluate and integrate new properties.
- Manage CapEx projects and vendor relationships to support property upgrades.
- Represent Spacious Skies at RV shows, trade events, and industry networking opportunities.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years multi-site leadership experience in hospitality, tourism, or related industries.
- Proven track record in operational management, talent development, and succession planning.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with reservations systems, marketing strategies, and budgeting.
- Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and booking software.
