About the Role:
Our Federal Government Client is seeking a Project Support Officer / Deputy Project Manager. This is a 4+ months contract role, with potential for extension, located at our client's Canberra ACT office, with flexible remote work arrangements available (remote work).
As the selected candidate, you will:
- Provide project support and coordination across all phases of the Defence Capability Life Cycle.
- Assist in preparing and managing project documentation including plans, schedules, and reports.
- Support the development and execution of Defence Acquisition strategies aligned with organisational goals.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Defence policies, procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain accurate and accessible project records.
To be successful in this role you should have:
- Diploma in Project Management.
- 1-3 years of experience in Project Management.
- 1-3 years of experience in Defence Acquisition.
- 1-3 years of experience with the Defence Capability Life Cycle.
It is desirable if you have:
- Prior experience working within Defence or Federal Government environments.
- Strong understanding of government project delivery processes.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with NV1 - Negative Vetting Level 1 security clearance.
