About the Role
Title: Program Director II
Location: Somerville United States
Job Description:
Site: Mass General Brigham Incorporated
Mass General Brigham relies on a wide range of professionals, including doctors, nurses, business people, tech experts, researchers, and systems analysts to advance our mission. As a not-for-profit, we support patient care, research, teaching, and community service, striving to provide exceptional care. We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.
The Global Brain Care Coalition (GBCC) was founded in 2023 by Dr. Jonathan Rosand, J.P. Kistler Endowed Chair in Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Professor of Neurology of Harvard Medical School, as a collaborative, centrally housed within Mass General Brigham (MGB). The GBCC was established in response to a call at the 2023 UN General Assembly's Science Summit for a coordinated global health response to the pandemic of age-related brain disease. Built upon partnerships already driving breakthroughs in clinical neuroscience research worldwide, the GBCC is committed to making proactive, evidence-based brain care simple and accessible to communities worldwide to promote brain health and prevent disease.
While housed within MGB, the GBCC is an emerging organization with ambitious goals for further growth over the next five-years. The Program Director will play a pivotal role in shaping operations and strategy to support this growth. Reporting to the Founder of the GBCC and liaising with the chair of the Program Advisory Council, the Program Director will ensure strategic alignment across near-, medium-, and long-term goals. The Program Director will have one senior direct report initially and will oversee a team of at least eight project managers and clinical research coordinators as well as an annual budget of $4.5 million. The team and budget the Program Director manages will grow as the GBCC scales up. Additional responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, engaging leaders and stakeholders from organizations across and outside of MGB as part of the GBCC's granting program, working with the MGB Development office to develop a fundraising pipeline through establishing and maintaining relations with prospective philanthropic partners, providing guidance and input in response to applications for GBCC funding, and providing general programmatic oversight for the GBCC's Impact and Program Councils..
