ETAS, Inc. seeks Product Support Engineer (Multiple Positions) at its facility located at 15800 N. Haggerty Road, Plymouth, MI 48170.
Job Description
Provide technical expertise with respect to ETAS products and solutions, focusing on measurement, calibration, and data analysis of automotive control systems.
Support the post-sales cycle through technical assistance including system installation, assessment and debug of product issues, application workshops and training.
Promote the use of new tool functionality via presentations and workshops. Ensure Customer Management.
Maintain strong relationships with key customer advocates and facilitate communication between global customer locations and associated ETAS regions.
Lead and manage technical interaction with customers including providing technical assistance driving the resolution of critical customer issues and tracking open/ closed action items.
Ensure Solution Development. Lead, propose, and specify tailored ETAS calibration solutions that improve the customer's ECU development processes. Ensure Business Development.
Support the pre-sales cycle and overall account strategy in close coordination with the account manager(s) through presentations, demonstrations, and managing customer evaluation projects.
Drive the growth of ETAS business through the identification of customer needs, proper positioning of ETAS solutions, and demonstrating a good understanding of the commercial side of each opportunity.
Represent ETAS at industry events.
Provide technical assistance to customers via email and phone as well as virtual and in person meetings.
Provide second level support/ training to internal colleagues on advanced engine modelling, measurement and calibration topics.
Conduct ETAS training classes as well as maintain existing training materials.
REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field plus 3 years of experience as a Software Support Engineer or occupation involving customer relationship management within the automotive industry. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with (1) Communication standards: CAN CCP, CAN XCP, ISO15765, and XCP on ETH; (2) Automotive networks: CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet100/1000Base-T, and 10Base-T1S; (3) Writing/ debugging scripts in: Python, C#, and VBA; (4) Performing/debugging data measurement using A/D scanning, Thermo scanning and frequency meters; (5) Major OEM’s embedded software calibration processes and ASAM standards (ASAP2 and ASAP3); (6) Vehicle subsystem development process fundamentals and working with MatLab Simulink; and (7) Defect tracking software (Team Foundation Server, Jira or SalesForce).
