Your Impact

 

You will help us enhance Dedrone's corporate and product privacy posture by ensuring our environment complies with both the letter and spirit of relevant privacy laws.  You will select, build, and advanced tooling to enable our workforce and services to operate in an efficient and secure manner. You will be the advocate of these best practices to foster a culture of respecting the privacy rights of both our internal employees and external customers.

 

What You'll Do

 

  • Location: Sterling, VA | Hybrid 
  • Reports to: Director of Information Technology
  • Direct ReportsN/A 

 


  • Act as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert on data privacy matters
  • Execute and mature a data privacy program to ensure program compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements and applicable privacy laws as determined by legal
  • Working with the legal department to develop data privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines, and maintain data processing documentation
  • Assist engineering, legal, product, and security organizations in understanding and implementing data privacy requirements in ways that align with business objectives
  • Research and track domestic and international privacy and security legislation, regulations, and enforcement, briefing interested stakeholders on new requirements
  • Support sales in customer privacy related assessments of Dedrone products and interactions with data processing authorities
  • Manage subcontractor arrangements and conformance of privacy requirements
  • Consult with legal when needed on data protection agreements and commercial transactions involving privacy laws and related issues
  • Promote strong privacy practices and develop internal privacy training across Dedrone

 

What You Bring

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in data privacy including leadership responsibilities for data privacy in a technical environment
  • Strong organizational, leadership, communication and project management skills
  • Passion for ensuring high quality deliverables and customer experience
  • Strong background in cloud security controls and experience implementing privacy requirements in cloud environments
  • Have worked on implementing privacy programs to conform with GDPR or other widely-adopted data protection standards across the world
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Privacy security related certifications (CIPP E/US, CIPT greatly preferred)
  • Experience with responding to changing privacy standards.
  • Experience across information security
  • Experience with international data security and privacy standards
