Position: Principal Financial Reporting and Revenue Specialist

Position Summary:

As a Principal Financial Reporting and Revenue Specialist, you will play a key role in driving the company’s success by leading all aspects of revenue recognition and financial reporting. You will work cross-functionally with business, finance, and accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate financial statements, compliance with regulatory standards, and implementation of best practices.

In this highly visible position, you will leverage your strong technical expertise to analyze complex revenue transactions, optimize reporting processes, and provide strategic insights to senior leadership. Your contributions will help shape business decisions and drive continued growth.

Job Description:

Primary responsibilities:

  • Owns the preparation of consolidated Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statements of Stockholders' Equity, and Statement of Cash Flows and footnotes in accordance with US GAAP
  • Assist with year-end audit support
  • Optimizes the consolidation and reporting procedures, including reducing preparation time
  • Ensures reporting requirements and deadlines are met
  • Works cross-functionally to review client contracts to determine, support and calculate appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with GAAP, relevant accounting standards, and company revenue accounting policies
  • Enhances and develops reporting tools
  • Maintain supporting documentation and schedules for revenue-related accounts
  • Support large-scale company initiatives that impact revenue accounting processes and deliverables
  • Facilitate discussions and provide insights on revenue recognition for both standard and complex transactions including new products, initiatives, contract review, deal structuring - assessing impacts to revenue recognition
  • Perform revenue related month-end close processes including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations and performing analytical review and fluctuation analysis on revenue to support accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Adhere to internal controls for revenue accounting, ensuring proper documentation
  • Lead or assist with research and preparation of revenue related technical accounting memos and position papers
  • Participate in periodic external audits, special projects, initiatives, and ad hoc requests related to revenue accounting
  • Handles assigned special projects as needed including providing support on various ad-hoc projects

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with revenue recognition ASC 606, including SaaS(Software-as-a-service)
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience or the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in the role
  • Skilled at researching, concluding, and documenting conclusions around technical accounting issues
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office programs skills, including Excel
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Proficiency in accounting processes, procedures, and controls
  • Experience in general ledger account analysis/reconciliation
  • Ability to work with cross-functional departments to research and resolve issues
  • Strong problem-solving and researching skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and prioritize a heavy workload
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and verbal and written communication skills
  • Good project management skills

Preferred

  • Public accounting experience and CPA certification

Working Conditions

Factors that may be used to determine your actual pay rate include your specific skills, experience, qualifications, location, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to the base salary, certain roles may qualify for a performance-based incentive and/or equity, with eligibility depending on the position. These rewards are based on a combination of company performance and individual achievements.

The hiring range for this position is: $98,400.00-$132,225.00
