About the role:
The Boston Scientific Preclinical Operations and Study Management (POSM) team supports all product lines across every phase of the product development life cycle by addressing preclinical needs. The Research Associate is an integral member of the team and serves as a preclinical subject matter expert in multiple capacities to support product development, launch, and post-market activities.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities will include:

Serve as a preclinical expert to R&D core teams, Marketing, Regulatory, and other functions on long-term project objectives, including preclinical regulatory strategy and in vivo and ex vivo study design.

Effectively communicate preclinical strategy and study design to project stakeholders.

Independently develop preclinical in vivo and ex vivo study designs based on device and technology needs.

Collaborate with POSM colleagues on the selection and management of external preclinical test sites.

Provide oversight and serve as a liaison during study execution to ensure study integrity, timelines, and budgets are met and communicated to appropriate stakeholders, including for multisite studies.

Participate in and, as appropriate, lead preclinical study planning and execution, including protocol development, study conduct, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.

Serve as a mentor to junior team members, as needed.

Support the development of translational models to meet project or corporate objectives by partnering with internal and external resources.

Build strong, trust-based relationships and contribute to collaboration across the preclinical department and with cross-functional partners.

Qualifications:
Required qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field.
-
Minimum of 0 to 3 years’ experience in a preclinical or related field.
Preferred qualifications:
-
Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: endoscopy, urology, neuromodulation, cardiology, or electrophysiology.

Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and technical writing skills.
-
Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently or semi-independently in a collaborative, team-based environment.

Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice regulations.
-
Experience supporting regulatory submissions to bodies such as the FDA, EU MDR authorities, PMDA, or NMPA.

Proficiency with common computer and data analysis tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab, and other statistical or data analysis software.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – —will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
