A Brief Overview
The Practice Liaison facilitates the relationship between the Central Business Office (CBO) and assigned practices and for complying with all physician alignment policies and procedures. Visits assigned practices routinely to interact directly with providers and staff to achieve best practice results for member practices and broader constituents. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Conducts site visits to physician practices for the purpose of obtaining/providing information for process/operations improvement, resolving issues and facilitating the relationship between the assigned physician practices and CBO. Meets with providers as needed to support site staff in achieving "clean claim" best practice metrics and other applicable work standards.
- Works with CBO team to ensure proper information is communicated regarding issues experienced at the physician practices and to obtain information from CBO to further communicate to the physician practices.
- Communicates with AR Supervisor and third party follow-up staff to obtain information regarding denied claims.
- Communicates with all CBO staff and management regarding patient financial matters interfering with full realization of net revenue.
- Provides feedback to physician alignment compliance department responsible for physician education regarding documentation and coding issues at assigned practices.
- Communicates feedback from assigned practices to CBO team for the purpose of building consensus and support to accomplish joint financial performance goals of CBO & physician alignment.
- Gathers, analyzes and reports on data pulled from work processes to establish improvements of processes, operations and establishing goals.
- Provides training as needed to CBO staff and assigned practice sites to ensure continuity in performance and compliance with internal policies and procedures and third party billing guidelines, edits, and rules.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree
Work Experience Requirements
- 3-5 years Billing, coding, or insurance verification
- Practice management
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of billing practices.
- Excellent communication and diplomacy skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Detail oriented, analytical thinking, excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
Supervision Provided by this Position
- There are no lead or supervisory responsibilities with this position.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: light work - exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal or extensive reading.
- The conditions to which the Associate with be subject in this position: The Associate is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions, job functions are typically performed under conditions such as those found in general office or administrative work.
