Responsibilities

As a Benefits Administration Health and Welfare Analyst, you will support the overall service delivery related
activities for the People Connections Benefits Administration Health and Welfare work stream for the 2nd
largest non-profit health system in the US. This role supports employee benefits for more than 150k employees
and 25k providers in 21 states.
The position will provide analytical support for the CommonSpirit Health and Welfare plans. In this role, the
Analyst will work with the benefit outsourced provider in providing direction and guidance on day-to-day plan
administration, operational matters, and employee inquiries, The Analyst will perform a variety of complex
administrative and coordination activities; produces and audits reports; reviews and resolves benefit eligibility
issues, organization readiness, implementation and post implementation support.

- Serves as the primary customer service contact for the benefit vendors and internal partners with
regard to CommonSpirit Health and Welfare plans. - Respond to Health & Welfare inquiries or requests from internal partners, third party vendors and
- CommonSpirit Health participants, consulting with Senior Analyst/Manager as needed.
- Analysis of Health and Welfare data; ability to identify issues through regular audits, including but not
- limited to new employees, Qualified Life Event processing, employment changes, etc; ability to
effectively communicate issues for correction
Audit data passed to and from vendor partners/record-keepers to ensure data integrity and resolve
discrepancies. Work with facilities as needed on data corrections. - Provide direction to vendor partners on customer service inquiries.
- Work with People Connections System Support and Health and Welfare vendors to design, develop
and test enhancements within internal and external systems. - Coordinate and process changes with Payroll and vendor partners.
- Effectively identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures,
problems, input and output requirements, data scope, and usage. - Identify and initiate programming changes as needed, e.g., new requirements due to collective
bargaining agreements or confirmed programming errors. - Assist in the development of new plan initiatives and coordinate implementation of new provisions
with Health and Welfare vendors. - Assist in creating and editing Health and Welfare communications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or related field; or a minimum of
five years of progressively responsible experience related to
implementing and administering employee Health and Welfare
plans; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated analytical skills are required.
- Broad knowledge of Health and Welfare plans, with at least
two years of experience in benefits - Strong analytical, mathematical, and financial skills, with
two years of experience in a position requiring data
manipulation expertise. - Demonstrated ability to exercise independent initiative and
judgment, identify and resolve problems, and prioritize
workload to ensure timely and accurate results. - Must be detail-oriented, organized and flexible; able to
perform multiple, unrelated tasks accurately with minimal
supervision and work under conditions of tight deadlines
and frequent interruptions. - Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment;
strong teamwork skills and strong customer service
orientation. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills including Google Workspace, MS
Excel, HRIS and health and welfare administration
programs.
