Our friendly Financial Services team are seeking a part time Payroll Specialist for 13 hours per week to join them for a 12 month period.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Provide high quality, responsive payroll support to management and employees across Council entities and external agencies.
  • Ensure payroll services are provided in a professional manner within agreed timeframes.
  • Ensure all leave transactions and entitlements are correctly applied, analysed and all changes verified.
  • Provide consistent, concise and accurate Payroll reports on a regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Support and assist pay function while implementing a new integrated HRIS payroll system.
  • Contribute to review, testing and implementation of new process.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum of five years' experience as a Payroll practitioner, preferably within a medium to large organisation.
  • An excellent understanding of employment legislation, including the Holidays Act 2003 and its complications.
  • Solid experience using complex computer-based payroll systems.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • NCEA Level 3 pass in English, Mathematics and Computing or equivalent
  • Intermediate to advance Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel, including experience with functions and the use of and spreadsheet
