Job Description
Nemours is seeking a Patient Scheduling Coordinator III (Radiology), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.
This is a remote position, however, will be required to come onsite for training and other times as needed.
Accurate and proficient scheduling of appointments for all outpatients for the Department of Radiology. Acts as a liaison between referring doctors, hospitals, insurance companies as well as patients and parents. Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations, and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation.
Expert level scheduler with more than 8 years of experience, high complexity of patients, highest level of productivity expectations and involved with complex projects, project work, and training new associates.
- Responsible for collection of accurate patient demographics and insurance information; handling incoming calls in a timely and expeditious manner; scheduling appointments for the Radiology Department.
- Coordinate and schedule appointments with other Hospital departments as necessary.
- Take patient referrals by phone, electronically, walk down, or mail.
- Enter information in referral log and adhere to response time guidelines.
- Communicates all procedure related prep information to families directly during the scheduling process.
- Replies to all voicemail messages within a timely manner during normal operating hours.
- Triage calls and transfer them to the appropriate department or service as necessary.
- Schedule sedation / anesthesia for all Imaging sedated procedures.
- Collaborate with the cardiac schedulers and physicians to schedule complex cardiac imaging
- Coordinate with PreOp for scheduling of combo cases.
- Additional miscellaneous duties and responsibilities, as may be assigned from time to time by employee’s supervisor.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- More than 8 years’ experience scheduling patients and/or other directly related healthcare experience required.
- Hospital experience preferred, medical terminology experience preferred, radiology experience preferred.
