As the Music Coordinator, you will offer editorial and administrative support in the Music and Publications department. The core responsibilities will include proofing and editing new and back-catalog musicals with composers represented by Concord Theatricals and processing files for both digital and print distribution. Works under direct supervision of the Director of Music.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

  • Proof rehearsal and performance material for musical.
    • Compare orchestra parts with piano-conductor and orchestra materials
    • Proof all music materials for accuracy and conformity to music publishing standards -- including but not limited to collisions, enharmonic issues, and page turns
    • Make stylings consistent across all materials
    • Communicate and problem-solve discrepancies with authors
  • Proof and prepare new and revised libretti in InDesign and Adobe Pro
    • Proof libretti in InDesign for typos and formatting errors
    • Liaise with authors and implement their edits for new and revised libretti
    • Complete layout of covers in InDesign
    • Compile print ready PDFs with Adobe Acrobat
  • Conduct script/score comparisons for musicals and plays with music
    • Implement changes to lyrics, tabling, and music cues in script files
    • Articulate dialogue and stage direction cues into piano-conductor and vocal books
    • Help resolve customer issues with back-catalog music materials, liaising with Licensing and Customer Service departments
  • Administrative support for the Music & Publications department
    • Submit final libretti and music files, along with title-related metadata, to our printers and digital distributors
    • Create title-related reports
    • Set up retail and music rental products on both the US and UK Concord Theatricals websites.
    • Assist in data clean-up projects

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in music performance or musical theatre, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Highly proficient in Sibelius
  • Proficient in Dorico and Finale
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with creating piano-vocal, piano-conductor, and vocal books
  • Proficient in QLab and Ableton
  • Experience with Excel, including use of Excel formulas
  • Willing to support other team members when help is needed
  • Knowledge of theatre professionals, including established and emerging composers

Preferred:

  • 2 years of experience as a copyist in some professional capacity
  • Experience with InDesign

Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000

*This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days minimum on-site.
