Salary Range: $17.00 to $28.00 per hour

Job Description:

Position Overview:

Medical Coder at Coronis Health, you will be responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10, CPT, and E&M codes to ensure timely and compliant documentation of healthcare services. You will support performance improvement efforts, contribute to process efficiency, and collaborate effectively with internal teams and clients to uphold the highest coding standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT-4, and E&M codes to patient medical records, including principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members via written, verbal, non-verbal, and electronic means
  • Support ongoing performance improvement initiatives by assisting with audits and quality control reviews
  • Proactively report any concerns regarding documentation, coding practices, or departmental issues
  • Share resources, knowledge, and best practices with the team to drive continuous improvement
  • Meet established productivity and accuracy standards
  • Identify coding trends or issues and escalate them to management in a timely manner

  • Ability to work independently and maintain productivity in a remote environment

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in E&M coding using ICD-10 and CPT-4
  • Experience with ED (Emergency Department) coding and ProFee coding required
  • Must have and maintain a professional coding certification (CPC, CCA, CCS, or CCS-P)
  • Completion of coursework in Medical Terminology, Medical Billing or Coding, Medical Record Technology, or Anatomy preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
