Description

The Managing Editor, Quality and Review (QR) will be responsible for managing the APAC QR team and accountable for the editorial integrity, quality and effectiveness of the team. We are seeking a highly motivated individual combining strong leadership with team management skills, strategic and creative thinking, first-class editing ability and a solid understanding of Control Risks’ services. Your team will raise content and work product presentation standards to deliver exceptional client-facing content in line with our internal brand, continually seeking opportunities to improve and develop editorial output. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the region and work collaboratively with other regional QR functions to develop and share best practice.

 

Role tasks and responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand requirements, priorities and constraints
  • Set and execute the QR strategy for the APAC region, in collaboration with APAC Business Leaders
  • Build an effective service delivery model to improve quality and consistency of content
  • Drive and demonstrate the value of the QR team
  • Establish a collaborative working environment engaging with editorial and QR functions across the globe to share best practice


Regional quality management

  • Accountable for the editorial integrity, quality and effectiveness of the QR team in the region
  • Maintain and continue to develop and implement templates for reports and proposals to ensure consistency of style and delivery, ensuring we keep up to date with evolving client demands and expectations
  • Create and update style guides for service lines to ensure consistency across the region and to generate efficiencies in writing and editing where possible
  • Create and deliver training for analysts, consultants and editors to ensure that they understand our quality expectations, understand service line requirements and use our templates and brand properly


Team management

  • Lead and manage a team of editors across multiple jurisdictions
  • Establish processes and protocols to ensure effective and efficient management of workload, allowing for flexibility in any surge workloads
  • Ensure team members are appropriately skilled to edit and uplift the quality of narrative reports and visualisations of data and findings to enhance our presentation of findings on client engagements, ensuring detailed service line knowledge and specialisms exist across the function
  • Provide strong coaching and training to enable team members to achieve technical and operational excellence
  • Innovation
  • Build a culture of innovation in the team, driving and implementing best practice around i) AI enhancement of editorial process and ii) innovating new ways to present client findings leveraging data and graphics visualisation and web reporting.


Editorial responsibilities

  • Provide quality review and editing for large cross-service line bids and projects which require senior editorial input
  • Participate in such projects from early stages to support the design of key project deliverables, schedule milestones for quality review and flag any potential risks to delivering quality work on time
  • Provide editing support across the region as required

 

Requirements

  • Experience in a consulting or professional services environment
  • Experience of editing complex reports to high standards and strict deadlines
  • Strong people-management skills and ability to lead and develop a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and drive projects to completion, successfully managing time and multiple competing priorities
  • Proven capability of building relationships with stakeholders at all levels within an organisation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with business-focused research and analysis
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
