The Impact You’ll Make in this Role:

As a Machine Learning Developer (m/f/*), you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Developing and evaluating ML models (e.g., CNN, transformer, LLM) for document classification, both for R&D and productive use

  • Creating tools for automatic analysis of medical documents, using state-of-the-art technology like transformers and generative AI and collaborating with our experienced domain experts

  • Understanding business requirements and mapping them to ML metrics

  • Exploring, processing and merging datasets

  • Integration and automatic deployment of the finished models into our cloud systems

  • Reviewing current AI research and contributing to our technology strategy

  • Contributing to the strategic development of our machine learning portfolio by keeping up with the state of research and identifying promising opportunities

 

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in computer science, mathematics, or related field or Bachelor’s degree with profound work experience

  • Strong experience in machine learning for text analysis, using libraries like Pytorch, Transformers, PySpark

  • Significant experience with deep learning models, e.g. transformers or generative AI

  • Solid grasp of statistics and exploratory data analysis

  • Fluency in English as well as good language skills in German

  • Good presentation ability

 

Additional qualifications that will help you succeed in the role:

  • Good ability to self-organize and communicate on different levels of technical/business issues

  • Able to extract clear insights from complicated data, document and present to an audience

  • Familiarity with AWS, Github, Linux/Unix systems, CI/CD, MLOps, Java

  • Interest in medicine

 

Work location:

  • Hybrid Eligible (onsite presence in Düsseldorf at least 1 day per week)
