Soni has partnered with a prominent global law firm to identify a Legal Collections Specialist to join its revenue operations team. This role is critical to supporting the firm’s cash flow and client service objectives through proactive management of aged receivables. The position works closely with attorneys, revenue leadership, and internal stakeholders to resolve billing issues, reduce A/R aging, and maintain strong client relationships.
Responsibilities of the Legal Collections Specialist:
- Manage a balanced volume of collections activity across phone and email.
- Monitor and analyze aged accounts receivable, including suspense and unallocated balances.
- Proactively contact clients via phone, email, and mail regarding outstanding balances and past-due invoices.
- Work with clients to establish commitment dates and structured payment plans.
- Collaborate with partners, inventory teams, and revenue teams to research and resolve billing disputes, including variances between billed and paid amounts.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to identify collection challenges and support strategies to reduce turnaround time on receivables.
- Prepare and distribute collections and aging reports for partners, firm management, and internal teams.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to collections and credit activities.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Maintain process documentation and support ad hoc projects as requested by management.
Requirements of the Legal Collections Specialist:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
- 3+ years of collections experience; legal or B2B collections strongly preferred.
- Experience in collections, credit analysis, billing, and/or cash receipts.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-focused, white-glove service approach.
- Self-starter with strong follow-through and an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Basic to intermediate Excel skills; pivot tables and VLOOKUPs preferred.
Preferred Skills of the Legal Collections Specialist:
- Prior experience in the legal industry.
- Knowledge of 3E or Elite Enterprise.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work independently.
Compensation:
$30 – $50 per hour (Overtime eligible)
Compensation is based on experience, skills, and job-related qualifications.
