Title: Health Coach Manager
Location: London England GB
Type: Full-time
Workplace: Hybrid remote
Job Description:
We’re looking for a people-focused, operationally strong Health Coach Manager to join one of the most exciting health-tech startups in the UK.
If you’re a confident leader with experience managing high-performing teams, a passion for health and wellbeing, and the drive to make a real difference, this could be the role for you.
At Second Nature, we’re on a mission to make healthy living astonishingly easy and to eradicate type 2 diabetes and obesity through world-class digital health coaching.
What you’ll do
- Lead and support our health coaching team (nutritionists and dietitians): Manage a team of remote health coaches, creating a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Drive performance and quality: Monitor team delivery using internal quality and operational tools to optimise service performance and outcomes
- Coach development: Deliver regular feedback and coaching to help team members grow in confidence, skill, and impact
- Ensure operational excellence: Balance multiple priorities, maintain oversight of workloads, and identify opportunities to streamline systems and processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with fellow Health Coach Managers, the Head of Health Coaching, and teams across Product, NHS, and Partnerships to drive innovation and alignment
- Stay connected to the work: Manage a small digital coaching caseload to stay close to our member experience and coaching practice
What we’re looking for
- Proven people management experience (3+ years) with a track record of developing and supporting teams
- Strong operational mindset - organised, strategic, and comfortable managing multiple moving parts
- Excellent communication and feedback skills, able to inspire, support, and drive accountability
- A growth mindset and resilient, hands-on attitude - not afraid to roll up your sleeves to make things happen
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives, using insights to optimise team performance, processes, and outcomes
- Passion for health, wellbeing, and behaviour change, and excitement about the role technology can play in transforming lives
- Confident working both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
- Strong tech literacy, and comfortable working from a laptop all day
- Available to work 5 days per week (Monday to Friday), 40 hours per week
Nice to have:
- Background in nutrition, dietetics, or health coaching (HCPC or AfN registration welcome but not required)
- Experience in a startup, healthcare, or digital health setting
- Familiarity with behaviour-change frameworks (CBT, NLP, or motivational interviewing)
Working at Second Nature
We embrace a hybrid model that balances flexibility with connection:
- London-based: 1–2 days per week in the office
- Remote (UK-based): Occasional visits to London, around once per month
This approach allows for meaningful collaboration and space to do focused work.
If you’re passionate about leading people, driving operational excellence, and helping others live healthier lives - we’d love to hear from you.
The Company
Obesity has become a global epidemic; in the UK, we spend £9 billion a year alone on diseases like type 2 diabetes (that’s 10% of the NHS budget). What’s shocking is most of this is preventable – through sustained lifestyle and habit change.
Enter Second Nature.
We’re here to help people take control of their health. By bringing together the latest behavioural science, psychology, technology, and the talents of our incredible team, our mission is to eradicate the global epidemic of chronic lifestyle diseases once and for all.
Our habit-change programme – delivered digitally through mobile and web apps – helps people to transform their lifestyle, lose weight, and ultimately reduce their risk for serious conditions such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease.
About us:
- We've positively changed the lives of over 250,000 people
- We're rated 'Excellent' by over 7k of our members on Trustpilot
- We’re one of the few consumer health brands that are commissioned by the NHS and leading health insurer, Vitality Health
- We're a leading B2C provider of GLP-1 medication-assisted weight loss programmes, and 1 of 5 NICE-approved providers to deliver these services within the NHS in the future
- Our team members stay with us for an average of 4.3 years
