This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with financial data, maintaining and updating established models, and supporting cross-functional teams with timely and accurate reporting.
As an FP&A Analyst, you will play a key role in helping track budgets, update forecasts, and analyze R&D-related spend. You will support senior finance team members by ensuring accuracy in financial reports, maintaining headcount and expense tracking models, and helping prepare presentations for business leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Model Maintenance & Forecasting
- Maintain and update existing financial models related to R&D headcount, operating expenses, and overall budgets.
- Examine actuals and input forecast data into planning models on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Support the monthly forecast process by coordinating data inputs from stakeholders and updating planning templates.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular financial reports and variance analysis comparing actual results to budget and forecast.
- Reconcile financial data between models, ERP systems, and reports to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Assist with tracking of key R&D metrics such as spend by function and cost per headcount.
Business Partner Support
- Collaborate with Engineering teams to gather inputs, answer basic finance-related questions, and support budget tracking.
- Assist in preparing materials for financial reviews, leadership presentations, and budget meetings.
Process Support & Improvements
- Help maintain documentation for financial processes and reporting procedures.
- Support efforts to streamline routine reporting tasks and improve data accuracy by leveraging existing tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Excel, Powerbi).
Qualifications & Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and budgeting concepts.
- Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with financial planning tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights) and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or D365) is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of SaaS business models and R&D financial metrics is a plus, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with finance team members and cross-functional partners.
