EXPECTED PAY RANGE: $96,706 to $132,971 Annually
The pay ranges listed above are for each position’s base pay only. This position may be eligible for other compensation including incentive pay and/or allowances. Candidates will receive additional information during the interview and selection process.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for managing the financial oversight, reporting, and variance analysis for multiple long-term Proton Beam Therapy construction projects. This role requires strong expertise in U.S. GAAP and IFRS to ensure accurate financial tracking, compliance, and reporting. The individual will work closely with senior executives, offsite project managers, and office administrators to ensure financial transparency, effective budget control, and compliance with corporate financial policies. Fluency in Japanese is required to support communication with global teams.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Oversight & Reporting:
- Monitor and manage all financial transactions related to long-term Proton Beam Therapy construction projects.
- Ensure accurate cost estimations and revenue recognition in compliance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, variance analysis, and rolling projections for executive review.
- Develop and update Excel-based financial schedules and managerial reports.
Accounting & Compliance:
- Prepare and review journal entries, offset entries, quarterly accruals, and accrual reversals.
- Conduct monthly general ledger and expense account reviews, ensuring proper classifications.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records through variance analysis.
- Assist with monthly financial closing, audits, and compliance reporting.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and monthly forecasts.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights to mitigate financial risks.
- Collaborate with corporate finance teams to align project financials with overall business objectives.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior executives, offsite project managers, and office administrators to ensure financial alignment.
- Communicate financial updates and findings clearly to key stakeholders.
- Support physical inventory counts and reviews as part of cost management efforts.
EDUCATION, LICENSES, AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (CPA or MBA preferred).
EXPERIENCE AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- 5-8 years of experience in general and cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or construction project environment.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
- Fluency in Japanese is required to support communication with global teams.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
- Proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and reporting.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with great attention to detail.
- Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
