Position Purpose
As an Executive Assistant at Sleep Number, you will play an integral role in managing day-to-day leadership support needs contributing to executive efficiency and effectiveness through insight, intellectual capacity, planning and agility. The Executive Assistant is also responsible for procedure and operational management of the function's leadership team mechanisms.
Sleep Number seeks a dynamic Executive Assistant with experience supporting two or more leaders on the CEO's Executive Leadership Team as well as the Board. Success in this role requires an administrative professional who thrives in a results-driven, fast-paced environment, who can juggle multiple priorities, and who can leverage their creativity and exercise good judgement in a variety of situations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Navigate complex calendaring through Outlook to ensure efficiency and maximum use of leader's time, effectively navigating changing priorities as they occur.
- Demonstrate foresight to effectively manage upcoming priorities and ensure leadership is prepared to accomplish objectives with materials and business recaps needed.
- Ensure all correspondence is accurate, complete and properly handled and compose correspondence on the leader's behalf as needed.
- Demonstrate initiative, discretion and tact to respond quickly to and anticipate needs.
- Effectively communicate daily priorities in support of shared support model.
- Plan and organize complex travel, proactively anticipating and managing travel-related issues and coordination actively leveraging knowledgeable of individual travel patterns and preferences.
- Support leadership by preparing for mechanisms, create and collect content to compile PowerPoint presentations, prepare agendas, send pre-reads & recaps as needed, manage logistics, and ensure that everything runs smoothly during the meeting.
- Operate as a liaison between leaders, team members, and cross-functional partners.
- Build cross-functional internal relationships, including partnering closely with other Executive Assistants who support Sleep Number's Executive Leadership Team.
- Pursue opportunities to change or lean out processes or approaches.
- Act as a key partner on special projects as needed.
Position Requirements
- Progressive administrative assistant experience, with success supporting two or more C-Suite executives.
- CEO executive team leader support experience is required
- Board meeting preparation and support experience is desired
- Project management experience, a plus
- Four-year degree preferred or equivalent experience
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Expert knowledge and proficiency on Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Proficient with Office 365.
- Honed communication skills (clarity, dictation, oral and spelling)
- Skilled at creating professional and visually sophisticated PowerPoint presentations, virtual meeting set up and planning skills.
- Advanced organizational, planning, scheduling and time management - strong program management
- Organized and detail-oriented - creating order out of chaos- know what matters, understand and learn key strategic material, intellectually curious and consistent learner of the world around them.
- Tenacious and driven and highly organized, ability to keep pace of organization
- Ability to establish trust and handle confidential information
- Capacity to be aware of, control, and express your emotions, and to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically
- Experience driving the organizing and preparation of events
Working Conditions
- This position is located at Sleep Number's Minneapolis headquarters and onsite presence is expected with flexibility to work remotely in a hybrid work arrangement
- Overtime work may be required, as requested and pre-approved by the Executive leader
Hourly Pay Range: $35.48 -$47.28
