Title: Editorial Specialist (Hybrid)

Job Description:

Location: Los Angeles, CA 90071 (onsite 3x per week)
Job Type: W2 hourly contract; 6-12 months
Compensation Range: $30-38/hr

On behalf of our financial services client, we are seeking an Editorial Specialist to join their Marketing Communications team. An ideal candidate would have demonstrable experience or aptitude working with data - assessing, organizing, quality-checking.

The primary focus of the Editorial Specialist is to assist with data updates and markups on a variety of documents. This will require pulling data from a number of systems and sources and organizing that data for record-keeping purposes. Additionally, the Editorial Specialist will collaborate with various internal groups to manage projects and ensure all tasks are scheduled and completed on time.

Professional experience in finance or another data-intensive industry, or a minor or major in a quantitative/business discipline at college, is preferred.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Fact-check marketing materials and statistical backup to ensure materials are error-free.
  • Access various databases and systems to retrieve current data and update a variety of materials.
  • Proofread, fact-check, and verify statistics and facts against internal and external sources.
  • Compile circulation comments from legal, business, marketing, and creative associates onto a master document.
  • Follow production schedules, track deliverables, and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment across broad, diverse groups.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis on economics, finance, statistics, journalism, or a related field is preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in editorial, marketing, and/or data analysis, or recent college graduate.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to produce graphs and tables, efficiently use spreadsheets, and perform calculations and automation for processing large volumes of data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to grammar and syntax.
  • Detail-oriented with proven ability to coordinate production processes and manage timelines.
  • Skilled in building relationships and working effectively across teams.
