Obesity, a major contributing factor, affects about 42% of U.S. adults. These chronic conditions are on the rise, with some communities experiencing greater barriers to prevention, diagnosis, and care.

As advocates for improved health access, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) is committed to expanding access to quality care. In partnership with local organizations and health systems, we implement community-centered strategies to reduce barriers, raise awareness, provide culturally responsive education, support research, and advocate for system-level change.
