Position Information
Position Availability: Position Title: Temporary Digital Content Videographer Requisition Number: 0206074446 Location New York City Position Type: Part Time Faculty Position Status: Temporary/Seasonal Department: CA/M&C Responsibilities:
We are seeking a social media-savvy videographer with a strong portfolio in video and audio editing to assist the work of the Digital Engagement and content department at The New School.
The Digital Engagement group is part of The New School's Marketing and Communications department, and plays a critical role in elevating reputation, building advocacy, and supporting enrollment efforts for the university and its schools. As students spend more time online, the content produced by this hire will impact our relationships with prospective and current students.
The Videographer executes multiple parts of the department's multi-platform social content strategy, with an emphasis on rapid response video production. Social media works on a cycle of hours and days, rather than months or semesters, so we expect this person to be able to work quickly and with a high standard. They should have a love of social media, and an ability to create content that's sensitive to the needs and expectations of our key audience. The candidate will collaborate with other staff and student workers on shoots, taking an idea from conception to execution. Similarly, this person will collaborate with other colleges and departments within The New School community and should feel comfortable explaining production plans to stakeholders. While this position requires a working knowledge of all the large social platforms, it will be heavily focused on platforms favored by prospective students, such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.
This is a temp role expected to take up to 15 hours/week, with an occasional need for off-hours shoots on nights or weekends. This position will report to the Senior Manager, Digital Engagement.
The New School is committed to creating and maintaining an environment that upholds and advances diversity and inclusion across all areas of employment, education, and access to its educational, artistic, and cultural programs and activities. We strongly encourage applications from individuals who share our commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable community.
