JOB SUMMARY:

 

The Detail Assistant supports the Merchandising Department to maximize the development and maintenance of product assortments by coordinating with cross functional teams. Responsible for accuracy of all SKU attributes and descriptions. The responsibility of the Detail Assistant is to assist the Merchandising Buying team in daily merchandising office functions. Responsible for samples, management of virtual inventory movement through the receiving process, and planogram set up. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, RMS, Business Objects and internal computer software.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

Category Coordination

  • Weekly update and maintenance of Purchase Order Log
  • Daily review of Inventory Management System that requires research and resolution of all purchase order discrepancies, price variances and product quality control issues in collaboration with the distribution center
  • Vendor Communications
  • Responsible for vendor samples and vault integrity including live merchandise from DC
  • Responsible for annual sample inventory and DC live merchandise kiosk inventory
  • Key purchase orders
  • Updates departmental reporting
  • Actively participates in department trend discussions, ideation of new concepts and creation of trend boards
  • Works on special projects as assigned

 

Assortment / Inventory Management

  • Manages and facilitates buyer sample process
  • Responsible for submission of buyer selected product for advertising needs
  • Partners with cross functional teams to prepare product for Executive level meetings
  • Manages the physical inventory process for multi-million dollar buyer location, which includes reconciling variances

 

Collaboration

  • Consistent communication and follow through with internal business partners (sample room, DC, MRPC, AP and QA)
  • Responsible for vendor samples and vault integrity including live merchandise from DC
  • Responsible for annual sample inventory and DC live merchandise kiosk inventory
  • Key purchase orders
  • Updates departmental reporting
  • Supports Omnichannel operations by collaborating with the Ecommerce team to ensure all products are added to the website

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Merchandising or related field preferred
