Make It Possible. In this role, you will create value and support decision making as you manage the functional data science capability through the application of mathematical, statistical, predictive modelling or machine-learning techniques to analyze CPG data and generate insights. You will help develop the data science roadmap for the business.
This role will be 1-2 days in East Hanover office, 3 days remote.

Drive Impactful Analytics: Manage the introduction and use of analytics to meet business requirements, ensuring consistency across all user groups. You will manage functional analytics methods, techniques, and capabilities to enable the function to analyze data, generate insights, create value, and drive decision making while you measure the progress of initiatives and market successes to the organization.

Strategic Roadmap Development Help elevate the data science roadmap for the business, aligning with key strategic priorities and driving long-term growth.

Data Assessment and Acquisition Assess business problems and determine the best internal and external data sources to use or acquire. Identify and establish the veracity of external sources of information relevant to operational needs.

Advanced Data Analysis Apply your expertise in analyzing data with high volumes, velocities, and variety (numbers, symbols, text, sound, and image). Develop forward-looking, predictive, real-time, model-based insights to create value and drive effective decision-making.

Understand the identification, validation and exploitation of internal and external data sets generated from a diverse range of functional processes and in general you will be an expert in functional data and data sets.

Working experience in a quantitative discipline and data science.

Strong quantitative background in statistics and linear algebra as well as programming knowledge.

Knowledgeable in classification techniques, machine learning and EDA

Understanding of advanced analytics platforms/tools such as R/SAS, Python, Hadoop, Apache Spark, and familiarity querying databases.

Familiarity generating dashboards and manipulating data visualization software KPIs/dimensions.

Interfacing with high-level stakeholders (SVPs and more).

Required Experience:
-
6+ years of experience with at least 2-3 years in the CPG domain
-
Strong Applied Knowledge of analytical techniques in statistical modelling, machine learning with exposure to CPG related modeling techniques like Price & Promotion, Marketing Mix, Testing and custom in-store analytics

In depth knowledge of CPG business acumen and processes is preferred

Expertise within syndicated data platforms (NielsenIQ, Circana (IRI), Numerator, etc.) across POS and Shopper Panels

Possesses strong conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and make actionable recommendations

Technologically savvy with advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and Tableau knowledge
-
Excellent communication skills and able to drive effective discussions. Experience managing and influencing stakeholders, key customers and cross functional partners

Ability to lead strategic projects and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
-
Experience building code in any of SAS Base, R, Python, SQL, Alteryx etc.

Experience on working with FMCG, Food & Beverages, Retail, or similar industry data with understanding the business process is crucial.

Should be able to articulate data science outcome into business understandable language.

Fluent English, other European languages would be an advantage.
Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Master’s degree preferred in areas such as Mathematics, Statistics, and Business Analytics.

Compensation:
The base salary range for this position is $117,400 to $161,425; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results.
