Who you are:

The Data Analyst is a member of the Analytics team focused on data procurement, analysis, reporting, and business intelligence (dashboards) in support of strategy and tactical decisionmaking for College Programs. The analyst will contribute to teams’ understanding of subjects, including enrollment trends, campus/institutional partners (current and prospective), scholarship and financial aid strategies, participant demographics, enrollment forecasting, the lead/applicant pipeline, and digital marketing. The focus is on developing actionable, data-driven insights that drive enrollment growth and student success. This includes understanding the impact of recruitment, institutional relations, and marketing activities and helping teams prioritize their efforts accordingly.

The role requires close collaboration with College Program stakeholders (e.g., Institutional Relations, Enrollment/Admissions, Marketing, Program Operations/Academics, Student Support) to understand information needs and deliver actionable insights.

What you’ll do

  • Supply business teams with reporting and analytics for decision-making and performance measurement.
  • Synthesize and analyze multivariate data from multiple sources (internal and external) to produce clear, actionable findings.
  • Develop and maintain standard reporting for teams across the organization.
  • Complete ad hoc reporting requests in a timely and thorough manner, presenting results in an easily understandable format.
  • Collect, clean, model, and analyze data in support of analytics projects.
  • Support improvements to data management practices and information systems by proactively identifying issues, developing solutions, and implementing changes.
  • Develop data visualizations and dashboards for readily assessing key metrics in PowerBI.
  • Streamline and automate analytics where possible, with a focus on reusable semantic models and governed datasets.
  • Use dbt to transform and document data models that power reporting and analytics; contribute to data quality tests and documentation.
  • Integrate and validate data from a variety of large and complex sources (both internal and external) and prepare it for analysis and reporting.
  • Participate in regular meetings with business stakeholders to clarify objectives, communicate project statuses, and present research findings.
  • Clearly communicate and summarize data findings and participate in strategic discussions to help teams and leadership maximize the effectiveness of data analytics for departmental goals.
  • Advise and train teams on reporting and analytics tools and best practices.
  • Execute projects on time and in line with overall program goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Some evening or weekend work, as well as domestic and international travel, may be required.

What you’ll bring:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in computer science, data science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or related field).
  • Strong data analysis, modeling, and reporting skills; high attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with data visualization/BI tools; Power BI strongly preferred.
  • Experience collecting, managing, and analyzing large datasets derived from multiple sources.
  • Experience working with relational databases and writing SQL SELECT statements.
  • Ability to effectively deliver presentations and communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with dbt (data build tool) for ELT transformations, testing, and documentation.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM and related data models.
  • Experience with Python or R for data wrangling and analysis.
  • Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake) and data pipelines.
