About LEAP Dev
LEAP Dev is the “Software House” powering LEAP Legal Software, the leading provider of Legal Practice Management Solutions in the world. We’re part of ATI Global – one of the largest international LegalTech companies. For more than 30 years, our curiosity and commitment to continual improvement has kept us reimagining productivity tools for lawyers and their staff to support our guiding purpose, to ‘Help lawyers who help people’. The market leading software we develop and support is used by more than 70,000 lawyers and their staff in small and medium sized law firms.
Working alongside our team of passionate high achievers, you’ll join a fast-growing technology business where things seldom stay the same for long. With more than 1000 smart, caring and ambitious ‘LEAPsters’ working together across Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Poland and New Zealand, you’ll find yourself in good company here.
Meet the Data Transitions Team
As our product offering continues to expand and increases in adoption, developing and maintaining the tools for global data migrations will be critical to ensure our ongoing success. This is a team of centralised Data Analysts and Software Engineers who are responsible for developing and maintaining tools that transition data from various global databases to LEAP.
You’ll focus on enhancing and improving internal tools across 6 regions, as well as exploring new tools and products we aren't currently supporting. You won't just work on one product or one tool - this is a varied role looking at every single product globally.
What you’ll do
As a Data Analyst, you’ll work across data interpretation, transformation, and validation, ensuring our migration tools are accurate, reliable, and easy for regional teams to use. This role sits at the intersection of analysis, ETL logic, and quality assurance. You’ll review and map data from a wide range of competitor systems, maintain and evolve our field mappings, and test changes to ensure smooth, high-quality migrations. Your work directly influences how effectively our teams onboard new customers, making you an essential part of the transition lifecycle.
To make this happen, you'll take care of:
Process & Workflow Development
- Define, document, and continually improve end-to-end data transition workflows.
- Identify inefficiencies, failure points, or inconsistencies and propose process enhancements.
- Ensure migration standards and best practices are applied consistently across all regions/products.
ETL Mapping & Data Modelling
- Develop and maintain mapping rules that convert legacy data structures into the target system’s schema.
- Analyse legacy product behaviour and identify how fields, relationships, and structures should be transformed.
- Maintain data dictionaries, mapping tables, and reference documentation.
- Ensure mapping logic is scalable, reliable, and adaptable to new products or schema changes.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Test migration tools, ETL processes, and transformation logic using real and sample data.
- Verify correctness of data mapping, relationships, and expected outcomes.
- Log issues clearly, work with developers to diagnose the cause, and validate fixes.
Technical & Analytical Support
- Act as an escalation point for complex mapping and workflow questions from regional migration teams.
- Provide guidance on edge cases, legacy system nuances, and best-practice transformation principles.
- Review feedback from migration teams and convert recurring issues into actionable improvements.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
- Maintain up-to-date documentation for processes, mappings, known limitations, and testing steps.
- Produce clear, structured guides that support teams relying on the migration tools and workflows.
- Communicate changes in processes or mapping rules to stakeholders in a timely and understandable way.
What you’ll bring
You’ll bring a blend of technical capability, analytical thinking, and strong communication skills that enable you to bridge the gap between data, development, and regional operations. You’re comfortable working independently, investigating unfamiliar datasets, and building the logic needed to solve complex transition challenges.
Technical Skills:
- Strong SQL skills for validating mappings, analysing data, and troubleshooting migration results.
- Solid understanding of ETL concepts, data transformation logic, and relational database structures.
- Experience working with structured data formats such as CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.
- Familiarity with API testing tools or scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, C#/F#) is highly advantageous.
- Exposure to accounting systems or client management systems (CMS), or experience working with multiple database systems (SQL, Oracle, etc.), will be a strong plus.
Analytical Skills
- Ability to understand complex data relationships and convert them into accurate, logical data mappings.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a methodical approach to identifying root causes—not just triaging issues.
- Strong pattern-recognition skills with the ability to spot anomalies, inconsistencies, and potential risks in large datasets.
- Confidence working autonomously on unfamiliar systems, including analysing raw data dumps from competitor platforms.
You are the type of person who
- Is clear and adaptable communication across both non-technical stakeholders and highly technical developers.
- Has strong collaboration skills, working closely with development teams, migration specialists, and regional operations.
- Is well-organised with solid documentation habits and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Has a proactive mindset with a passion for improving processes, preventing recurring issues, and contributing ideas for new features or tooling enhancements.
- Is curious, resilient, and has a genuine enjoyment of puzzle-solving and tackling new challenges every day.
