About the Role

About the role
We are currently recruiting multiple Customer Contact Officers to join our Customer Contact Team. These roles are based within the Essential Energy Port Macquarie footprint, with the flexibility to work from home in a hybrid environment. We offer various opportunities, ranging from permanent full-time to part-time positions, all involving rotating shifts.
The Customer Service Branch is responsible for delivering efficient customer service and managing relationships with customers, retailers, and key stakeholders. The branch also ensures compliant and efficient interactions with the Australian Energy Markets and its participants.
As a Customer Contact Officer, you will provide professional, high-level customer-focused service, primarily handling system outage and network inquiries to meet customer needs, enhance business performance, and assist in achieving operational goals.
Experience
- Proven experience in a similar customer service/contact centre role
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant policies and procedures
- Demonstrated problem-solving and negotiation skills for handling stakeholder enquiries and complaints
- Experience working on a rotating roster and flexibility with shift arrangements
Skills
- Ability to effectively navigate, maintain, and use multiple information systems
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of people
- Proactive, with the ability to make decisions and take responsibility
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with tact and diplomacy
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to meet business targets and manage a complex workload
- Flexible team player, willing to work effectively in a professional, busy, and diverse team environment
- Proficiency in computer operations and business systems relevant to the role
Required Qualifications
- Certificate III in Customer Contact or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
