Job Description:
As a Credit Associate, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and managing credit risk of our clients. Your responsibilities will include conducting credit analyses, supporting deal structuring and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure sound credit decisions that align with our risk management policies.
You'll be working closely with a team based in both the United States, Mexico and Per�.
Responsibilities
- Conduct reviews on underwriting requests, including background checks, document review, and various analyses on cash flow, yield sensitivity, liquidity, and debt coverage.
- Analyze credit reports, loan documentation, and contractual agreements.
- Develop financial models (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow).
- Cross-reference financial statements, operational projections, underwriting materials, and market data to identify potential risk factors.
- Prepare comprehensive underwriting memorandums for review by the Investment Committee.
- Interact directly with clients to resolve Investment Committee inquiries and gather supporting documentation.
- Set credit recommendations for deals up to $1.25M, ensuring all credit activities comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain continuous communication with Portfolio Management and Customer Success teams, including leading reference calls with stakeholders and addressing relevant news or developments.
- Collaborate with Due Diligence and Risk teams on Pre-Season and Marketplace processes.
- Support applicant pipeline management, ensuring accuracy and adherence to underwriting quality standards.
- Work with a high standard of professionalism and technical rigor.
- Maintain clear and concise documentation for each application, including customer correspondence, guideline exceptions, and key credit decision details.
- Ensure senior team visibility on relevant information throughout the investment process.

Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in the financial industry
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business, or related field
- Solid understanding of credit risk assessment, financial products, and Latin American markets
- Client-facing experience in a fintech or financial services context is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel-based analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership
- Ability to manage multiple projects and implement systems for workload efficiency
- Strong writing skills with the ability to distill complex financial information clearly and concisely
- Proficiency in Spanish
- Intermediate to advanced English (required)
- Comfortable reviewing legal language in contracts (in Spanish and English)
- Able to analyze financial statements in both languages
