About the Role:
We’re looking for a freelance Content Designer (Contract) who blends strategic thinking with strong writing and lightweight design skills. In this hybrid role, you’ll contribute to content across our social media, emails, website, and app ensuring everything we publish is clear, compelling, and on-brand.
This is a freelance, 1099 contractor role with a typical weekly commitment of 20–40 hours, depending on project needs and your availability. As a contractor, you’ll help shape how Future communicates by contributing to scalable systems, consistent voice and tone, and high-quality storytelling across channels.
You will:
- Support end-to-end content creation, from concept and copywriting to layout and visual execution for social, email, blog, website, and in-app experiences
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, marketing, and operations teams to align on goals, map user journeys, and deliver effective content
- Contribute to reusable templates, frameworks, and scalable content systems (e.g. onboarding flows, lifecycle messaging)
- Help maintain and evolve Future’s voice and tone in coordination with the marketing team
- Work in Figma with internal designers to iterate on structure, layout, and content hierarchy
- Execute both copywriting and light visual design, moving fluidly from words to mockups
You have:
- 4–6 years of experience in content design, UX writing, marketing copywriting, or editorial, with a strong foundation in clear, compelling writing
- Proficiency in Figma, with the ability to think visually about content structure and presentation
- A self-directed, deadline-oriented approach, with experience managing your own workload in fast-paced environments
- A clear, concise, and elevated writing style, and the ability to adapt tone across different formats and audiences
- A collaborative mindset and strong organizational skills, with a knack for bringing clarity to ambiguity and structure to storytelling
Bonus: Experience working with consumer products, fitness/wellness brands, or behavior change-focused content
Compensation, Benefits & Life at Future:
- A 1099 contract-based role (not full-time employment), offering flexibility to manage your own schedule and workload
- A typical commitment of 20–40 hours per week, depending on project needs and your availability
- A competitive hourly rate between $60 – $75, based on experience, skills, qualifications, and location
- Compensation that reflects the cost of labor across different U.S. geographic markets
- Pay determined by role and level, with individual starting rates based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors
