About the role
First things first: you want to know what you’re actually applying for. It’s impossible to capture every nuance of a role – especially at a rapidly growing company like Mews – but if we had to distill it down to a job description (which we do because this is a job description), it would be this:
As Compliance Manager and MLRO at Mews, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring we operate to the highest regulatory standards as we expand our fintech capabilities in Europe. You’ll be responsible for building and leading a best-in-class compliance framework, fostering a culture of integrity, and partnering with senior leadership to support sustainable growth. This is a unique chance to shape the compliance function from the ground up in a fast-moving, global tech company.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
- Designing, implementing, and continuously improving compliance and risk management frameworks
- Acting as the lead on AML/CFT matters and serving as the main point of contact for regulatory topics
- Advising the business and leadership teams on compliance requirements and best practices
- Monitoring regulatory developments and translating them into practical processes and policies
- Preparing internal reporting, supporting audits, and overseeing compliance reviews
- Promoting a culture of integrity through training, awareness, and clear guidance
- Building and scaling a compliance team as the business grows
You’ll be a great fit if you bring the below with you:
- 7+ years’ experience in compliance, AML/CFT, or regulatory roles within financial services, payments, or fintech
- Strong knowledge of European and Dutch financial regulations and AML frameworks
- Experience building and running compliance programs in fast-paced, tech-driven environments
- Skilled communicator who can translate regulations into clear, practical guidance
- Track record of engaging with senior management, regulators, and auditors
- High integrity, independence, and sound judgment in complex situations
- Fluency in English; Dutch is a strong plus
- Professional certifications in AML/Compliance (e.g. CAMS, ICA, CFE) are an advantage
What’s in it for you?

Beyond working alongside amazing colleagues and tackling exciting challenges, you’ll enjoy:
