Our Commercial Underwriting Office is currently seeking a Real Estate industry expert. This role is responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to identify business requirements and develop strategies to deliver industry specific content, guidelines, and process improvement. This role will also be responsible for establishing relationships within the practice teams of key brokers and educating associates on underwriting guidelines to ensure understanding of proper risk selection. You will leverage your underwriting and industry expertise to manage the performance of a Real Estate book across the Commercial Lines enterprise, ensuring business strategies are aligned with production goals. This position is based at our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio.
Many departments at our Headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio, offer hybrid work options, empowering associates to work from home several days a week. Depending on your role and responsibilities, hybrid options may be available for those working at headquarters.
The pay range for this position is $75,000 - $150,000 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant's education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be ready to:
- participate in business initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders across the Commercial Lines enterprise, including IT, Claims, Sales, Loss Control, Commercial Product, and other departments
- develop industry specific underwriting and training tools to empower associates and assist in increasing underwriting acumen across all business units
- support Sales by articulating our appetite at a local, state, and national level to increase submission count
- interact with departmental leadership, providing feedback on strategic objectives and transforming those objectives into practical and sustainable solutions
- conduct book analysis to identify trends and opportunities to strengthen the book profile
- develop and monitor industry specific underwriting guidelines
- assist in R&D efforts in collaboration with other stakeholders to create new products and improve the value proposition across the Commercial Lines enterprise
- provide thought leadership in area of expertise, including drafting white papers, first alerts, and participating on industry panels
- act as a Subject Matter Expert supporting Learning & Development training efforts both within Commercial Lines and externally with our agency plant
- full immersion in the industry by staying abreast of current market conditions, products and coverage needs and involvement in industry functions
- develop and maintain relationships with key brokers, agents, and industry influencers to assess risk tolerance, market appetite and emerging issues
- maintain industry specific association and vendor relationships

Bring education and experience from:
- 5 years of experience in the commercial property and casualty industry
- general knowledge of Cincinnati product offerings
- working knowledge of the Real Estate industry as it relates to the Property & Casualty industry
- experience in setting and meeting objectives combined with the ability to persuade and influence others
