Job Description
Our client in the Financial Services industry is committed to delivering exceptional service and building lasting relationships with their customers. They are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join their dynamic team.
Job Type: Contract
Duration: Until September 2026
Location: Mississauga
Work Model: Hybrid - 2 to 3 days in office
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
Pay Rate: $22/hour
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect past due amounts professionally, maintaining customer focus and positive relationships.
- Conduct regular follow-ups on accounts, with special attention to high-risk accounts requiring escalation.
- Research account details, analyze data, and provide solutions to resolve outstanding issues.
- Process credit applications, invoices, statements, and payments (bank deposits, allocations, credit cards).
- Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and handle account-related documentation.
- Complete account extensions, rewrites, bailiff assignments, and closures for repossessed accounts.
- Support team members, collaborate with other departments, and contribute to process improvements.
- Perform internal control audits and monthly reconciliations of internal reports.
Qualifications:
- Previous call centre experience is required.
- Experience in collections or related financial services roles preferred.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Eager and quick to learn.
- Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
