Position Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to perform ICD-10 Diagnosis and ICD 10 (PCS) procedural coding, as applicable, for all Aultman's Inpatient Services that are currently coded by the department. Candidates will be expected to utilize their experience and knowledge along with referencing to AHA Coding Clinics and UHDDS guidelines. Rehab coding will also include completion of the coding potion or the IRF-PAI.
Department Summary:
Remote Coding department with credentialed colleagues and leadership. We have full-time Inpatient/CDI Quality Assurance and Training colleagues to assist with training, questions and auditing. We work in a fast-paced quality driven environment.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC preferred, additional certifications helpful
- 3 - 5 years of Inpatient experience preferred in hospital setting
- IRF-PAI Knowledge helpful
- Knowledge of accounts receivable goals and impacts helpful

Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Strong understanding of UHDDS guidelines
- Assign accurate MS-DRG, ICD-10-CM diagnosis and PCS procedure codes, as well as POA and HAC indicators according to payer requirements, government, physician requirements and office policies.
- Maintain adequate knowledge of coding, compliance, governing bodies, and reimbursement policies according to the coding related job field.
- Meet/Exceed established productivity expectations
- Meet/Exceed established quality expectations
- Proficiently code all assigned inpatient records and have a desire to learn.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned
- Maintain attendance according to departmental standards
- Meet/Exceed internal CEU hourly requirements
- Complete safety evaluation, JCAHO education, TB testing, Confidentiality, Information system usage, HIPAA corporate compliance education on an annual basis.
- Exhibit excepted level of teamwork and respect
- Work outside department silo as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
