Job Description:

Overview:

Cvent is a global meeting, event, travel, and hospitality technology leader, with more than 5000+ employees worldwide. As a leading cloud-based technology company, we have over 28,000+ customers, including 80% of the Fortune 100 companies, in more than 100 countries.

Cvent’s software solutions optimize the entire event management value chain and have enabled clients around the world to manage hundreds of thousands of meetings and events. In addition to helping event planners navigate every aspect of the event process, we also provide an integrated platform to hoteliers to help create qualified demand for their hotels, manage that demand more efficiently, and measure their business performance in real-time.
Join Cvent’s Cloud Operations team and play a pivotal role in designing and implementing cutting-edge, scalable infrastructure that powers our world-class SaaS solutions for the event and hospitality industry. Be at the forefront of innovation, ensuring resilience and performance in a rapidly evolving cloud environment.  We strive to deliver best-practice cloud architectures using Amazon Web Services (AWS) for Cvent’s compute, storage, transit, and infrastructure compliance needs.
In This Role, You Will:

  • Streamline Processes: By collaborating with team members to automate repetitive tasks and identify opportunities for process improvement using serverless tools such as AWS Step Functions, AWS Lambda, and Chef.
  • Collaborate Globally: By partnering with our Database, Enterprise Services, Security and Site Reliability Engineers in US, Canada, and India to build and implement infrastructure using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) written in TypeScript and automation and workflow tooling written in Python.
  • Innovate: By participating in technical solution discussions with the team, diving into the details to solve problems, and helping the team to design, implement, and optimize cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Balance Your Work Time Between: 1/2 programming and automation development and 1/2 assisting internal clients on operational matters.

Here's What You Need:

  • 2+ years of technical experience in technology (e.g., software development, cloud computing, infrastructure engineering, and/or security engineering).
  • 2+ years on a team that manages Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.
  • 1+ years of building automation tools to handle operational tasks using Python.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years building infrastructure-as-code solutions using AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) written with TypeScript or 1+ years writing TypeScript, Node.js or another JavaScript language.
  • 1+ years using a configuration management tool (e.g. AWS Systems Manager (SSM), Chef, and/or Ansible) to automate the installation of applications and configuration of operating system settings on both Windows and Linux.

Success Factors

  • Proactive in identifying areas for automation and process improvement.
  • Demonstrates ownership of issues and follows through to resolution.
  • Contributes to a culture of transparency, documentation, and continuous learning.

Due to the 24x7x365 nature of Cloud Infrastructure Operations, this role will require participation in on-call rotation, though given our global team, this is a one week 10-hour per day rotation, with handoff to our India team allowing you to sleep during on-call weeks.  This rotation occurs approximately every 6 weeks, with some off-hours support from time to time as needed outside of this rotation. Our current work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Friday work from home and Wednesday, Thursday in the office.  We offer twice yearly companywide events to share our growing organization’s technology strategy, share our sales outlook, and celebrate promotions of our growing team. Come help us build world-class cloud solutions.
