What you'll do on a typical day
The Business Support Specialist is a 30 hour per week position. This position has the possibility for some remote hours. The Business Support Specialist reports to the Associate Vice President, Financial & Administrative Services and performs the following functions:
Essential Job Functions:
- Assists the Business Office in daily operational accounting functions
- Plans events for divisional and regional meetings
- Performs initial review of employee travel forms
- Ability to prepare the daily bank deposit
- Assists the Executive and Associate Vice President, Financial & Administrative Services with administrative duties as needed
- Processes incoming mail for the Business Office
- Assists with State Construction Office reporting in Interscope
- Assists with data entry of all construction invoices and payments for year-end construction-in-progress reporting
- Data entry for utilities
- Ability to prepare monthly vehicle mileage logs
- Assists with annual insurance renewal forms
- Serves as a team member in the RFP process for renovation and construction
- Assists students, visitors, faculty and staff as needed
- Serves on College committees
- Performs other duties as assigned that achieve the mission and initiatives of the college

Your attributes
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting or significant progress toward the degree with anticipated completion date within 1 year
- At least one year of finance office experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Related Business Office experience in a North Carolina Community College
