Join us as our newest Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager in our Human Health division, you will be responsible for driving B2B sales of our probiotic solutions. You will identify and develop strategic partnerships, expand our customer base, and ensure our biosolutions meet the evolving needs of health-focused brands and manufacturers.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a self-motivated individual with an entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset. They will have the ability to utilize available resources, and team members to drive new projects and sales across North America. This is a role with the purpose of driving growth through our entire portfolio and manufacturing capabilities.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

  • Expanding market presence by identifying and pursuing new B2B opportunities within the dietary supplements and early life nutrition sectors.

  • Engaging customers by building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and strategic partners.
    Delivering solution‑based selling by leveraging the Strain to Solution™ platform to co‑develop tailored probiotic offerings with clients.

  • Collaborating cross‑functionally with R&D, regulatory, marketing, and technical service teams to align customer needs with Novonesis capabilities.

  • Executing regional and global sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.

  • Gathering market intelligence by monitoring trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform product positioning and innovation.

  • Maintaining accurate CRM pipeline data and reporting regular performance updates to leadership.

To succeed you must hold:

  • Minimum 3 years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably within the health, wellness, dietary supplement, or food and beverage sectors.

  • Strong preference for understanding of the probiotics industry and product development processes 

  • A proven track record of closing new business and meeting or exceeding sales targets in a technical or science-driven environment.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess market needs and identify opportunities.

  • Self‑motivation, a proactive mindset, and comfort working in a remote environment (where applicable), along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a global matrix organization.

  • Experience utilizing lead generating technology such as CPG Radar (preferred).

  • Ability to travel 30–50% within North America, with additional international travel to Denmark 1–2 times per year for meetings, trade shows, conferences, and other key industry events.

Expected salary range: $145,000 - $160,000
