About the Role
Title: Business Analyst 2
Job Description:
CTG is seeking to fill a Business Analyst 2 opening for our client in Austin, TX.
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid remote)
Duties:
Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs to align with strategic objectives.
Formulate system solutions that support business strategies and drive operational efficiency.
Engage in business process reengineering efforts and recommend new technology applications to address business challenges.
Prepare solution options, risk assessments, and financial analysis such as cost/benefit evaluations, ROI calculations, and build vs. buy decisions.
Create comprehensive documentation including user requirements, functional specifications, and development workflows.
Serve as Configuration Manager within the IT Service Management (ITSM) team, ensuring accurate documentation and maintenance of all Configuration Items (CIs).
Develop and maintain the configuration management plan and enforce CM practices across IT teams.
Define configuration identifications, manage configuration changes, and conduct reviews and audits to maintain compliance with agency policies and standards.
Act as a liaison between operations, infrastructure, applications, and ITSM teams to ensure alignment with the CM strategy.
Skills:
Advanced understanding of ITIL configuration management principles and best practices.
Proficiency with CMDB platforms such as BMC Helix, ServiceNow, or Atlassian.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to conduct regular audits for compliance and accuracy.
Strong collaboration skills to coordinate across multiple technical and business teams.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience with configuration management process development and policy implementation.
At least 5 years of experience supporting and maintaining CMDB platforms.
4 years of experience performing configuration audits and verification activities.
3-5 years of demonstrated experience in a Configuration Manager or similar ITSM-focused role.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
ITIL 4 Foundation certification is required.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
