Overview

As a Brand Designer III, you will translate brand strategy into compelling visual expressions that establish Compassion as a lighthouse brand. Working as a core member of a small, high-performing brand strategy team (manager, writer, designer), you will develop creative concepts and campaigns that bring our brand platform to life across multiple touchpoints—from the upcoming 75th anniversary campaign to resources that enable consistent brand expression throughout the organization.

This is not a production design role, nor is it focused on visual identity or UI systems. You'll work within Compassion's established visual identity to create brand applications, campaigns, and assets that express our strategic positioning and narrative. You'll collaborate closely with channel teams and digital partners, providing creative leadership and partnership as we execute brand creative in-market.

What will you do?

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
  • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.
  • Uphold and engage in Compassion’s core Cultural Behaviors.
  • Translate brand strategy into creative concepts and visual expressions across print, digital, environmental, and experiential media.
  • Lead creative ideation and contribute to brand strategy development alongside the brand team—participating as a strategic thinker, not just an executor.
  • Develop visual stimulus materials to test and refine the brand platform and messaging with key audiences.
  • Create brand resources, templates, and toolkits that enable channel teams to apply brand strategy consistently in their work.
  • Partner cross-functionally with digital teams, marketing channels, and communications teams to ensure cohesive brand expression—providing influence and creative leadership without direct ownership.
  • Identify opportunities for iterative improvements to existing visual systems as the brand strategy evolves.
  • Co-facilitate creative workshops and training sessions that build brand fluency and socialization across the organization.
  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on design execution, moving fluidly between concept and execution.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.

What do you bring?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in brand design, with demonstrated work in campaign development and cross-channel marketing creative
  • Strong portfolio showcasing conceptual thinking, campaign work, and ability to work within established brand systems
  • Experience in multi-media brand applications (print, digital, video, environmental)
  • Proven ability to translate abstract strategy into concrete creative executions
  • Collaborative mindset with experience influencing cross-functional partnerships
  • Systems thinking—ability to create scalable tools and frameworks, not just one-off executions
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills for leading creative sessions and training stakeholders
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and iterating based on feedback
  • Service-oriented approach that balances strategic vision with organizational needs
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of schedule
